The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly granted former President Goodluck Jonathan a waiver to contest the upcoming party’s presidential primary. Naija News learned that Jonathan was granted the waiver after meeting with the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, at the former President’s house in Abuja last week. Adamu was said to have met with Jonathan twice in one week to confirm if he is willing to contest for the APC presidential ticket at the special National Convention on Sunday.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday introduced new policy that directs banks to only load N200 notes and lower denominations into their Automated Teller Machines. According to the memo issued to banks on Tuesday and signed by the CBN Director of Banking Supervision, Haruna .B. Mustafa, the Apex bank restricted withdrawals from point of sale terminal to N20,000 on a daily basis. It also pegged weekly withdrawal from banks (over the counter) at N100,000 and N500,000 weekly for individuals and corporate organisations respectively.

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has approved the appointment of Surveyor Dr. Augustine S. Didigwu as the Surveyor-General and Head of the state’s Survey Department. Unknown gunmen have killed a police inspector, while another cop sustained an injury during an attack on the Mgbidi Divisional Police Headquarters in Imo State. It was gathered that the attack which happened on Friday night led to panic in the area as the gunmen who came in a vehicle and police operatives engaged in a gun duel.
