A final-year student of the Federal University of Kashere (FUK), Gombe State, identified as Nalkur Zwalnan Lar, has reportedly taken his life over his financial status. The deceased committed suicide on Wednesday night at Santuraki area of Kashere town. According to Daily Trust, Zwalnan who was a student in the Faculty of Education, initially took poison but when it was not working fast enough he proceeded to hang himself. Before his death, the deceased left a note explaining the reason he decided to end his life.

The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Friday, declared that the 2023 presidential ticket should be zoned to the south. He added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) should respect the zoning agreement even though it is not entrenched in the constitution. Ganduje however submitted that zoning is a strategy for winning elections. “The Southern part of the country but there should be a consensus of the members,” he said when asked which zone should produce the next president for Nigeria during his appearance on Channels TV Politics Today.
